Another fab recipe from Anita Grant, using Organic Chamomile Flower

A little history for you:
Our Egyptian Chamomile contains an exceptionally high content of essential oils. It was used by ancient Egyptians, Romans & Greeks to cure a number of ailments.

What's in it for YOU!
Here's a teensy-weensy taster of the benefits.
  • A great anti-inflammatory perfect for hypersensitive skin, broken veins & puffiness.
  • Strengthens skin & scalp tissue. Reduces swelling & pain of the skin & mucous membranes. (excellent for eczema, skin rashes, acne, excessive acne, rosacea & allergic reactions).
  • Brightens highlights in hair when used in a shampoo or as an herbal hair rinse. (see recipe below)
  • Contains traces of the essential oil called azulene (an analgesic & detoxifier).
  • G-R-E-A-T herbal infusion when used in conjunction with our delish Rhassoul Deep Condish (no surprises there ;-) )

Chamomile is a clinically proven anti-allergenic herb that gives off an abundant amount of mucilage, which softens and soothes everything it touches.

Uses:
  • Hair spritz (see recipe below)
  • Baths (after a hard workout at the gym...spinkle a few & RELAX..)
  • For Acne (used as a facial spritzer or infused with Golden Jojoba Oil)
  • In an ice cold or hot compress to relieve achy & swollen muscles.

There is an extremely large list of uses for Chamomile try it in a herbal hair spritz or infuse it with some water and then rub it on your skin. You will feel the difference.

Recipe Time:

Chamomile Flower Infusion

Making an infusion is just like making a cup of tea.
  • Take a heaped teaspoon of Chamomile & put it in a big ol' mug or Pyrex jug.
  • Boil some water
  • Pour the hot water over the Chamomile and cover
  • Let it brew for at least a few minutes
  • Strain the leaves with a strainer so that you only have the nourishing infused tea
  • Pour the strained infused tea into a spray bottle or use as a final rinse on freshly washed hair.

Chamomile & Vegetable Glycerin Hair Spritz

Follow the same instructions as above but add
  • 1 teaspoon of Vegetable Glycerin or a teensy-weensy drop of honey (both are great hair & skin humectants)
AND / OR
  • Add half a teaspoon of flaxseeds to the herbs in the cup and THEN pour the boiling water over top.
  • Strain the herbs & flaxseeds then place in a spritz bottle.

Chamomile infusions are GREAT for spritzing Locs, soften hair, scalp cleanser and adding a nice soft scent. Herbal rinse infusions provide excellent slip and detangles naturally curly hair instantly.

Be sure to use your infusion within 2 days and store in a dark, cool, dry place.

For added softness use either recipes with our Rhassoul Deep Condishes. Just pour the infused tea over the Rhassoul Condish until you get a nice thick consistency.

Why use infused tea with the Rhassoul Condish?:
Hot infused tea is used to break down the Condish so you will smell the naturally chocolaty Unrefined Cocoa Butter scent as you pour the hot infused tea over the Condishes.
